Re: [Killietalk] Re: Problem hatching brine shrimp eggs

I've been following this thread and have done many of the techniques used to
store and prepare BBS eggs for hatching.
I reuse a marine mix by pouring it through the brine shrimp net a few times
and clean the plastic cone each time I recycle the marine mix.
I store the eggs in the original container in the freezer. What I do is to
put 3 or 4 silica gel packs that come with electronic equipment to absorb any
moisture. Without that, the top layer of eggs would be corrupted. I place the
can (with lid) inside double bags of plastic and then in the freezer. I remove a
portion of eggs that can fit into a large, brown pharmacy vial used for
medications. This I would place in the refrigerator. I replace a small portion as
the vial is emptied.
It seem to keep the eggs fresh and I never had any clumping of eggs.
Otherwise, everyone seems to have a good handle on BBS egg production.
