Hi Lee, Actually, if the BS eggs are not in a funnel type aparatus, aeration is not that important. I do exactly like many of you with inverted soda bottles and aeration to keep them from piling up in the cap. However, I know a guy that doesn't use air, and hatches them in a 1g plastic shoe box. Totally foreign concept to me, and yet there they were, a sworm of bbs congregating near a corner of the shoe box, with many more unhatched eggs spread out in the bottom of it. He said that is how he has done it all his life (he's in his 70's).
