Several subscribers to this list are also NANFA mailing list subscribers and 
many keep native killies as well. It is not the same hobby as tropical 
killifish for several reasons. First, it is illegal in many states to sell native 
fishes. Second, many of the native fishes do not adapt to indoor temperatures as 
well as tropical fishes. Third, the colors are more seasonal than many of the 
colorful African species. Fourth, some are protected species making the 
keeping illegal in some states.
    Having said all that, I do keep a few local species and some others from 
different regions. If you desire more mailing list interchange concerning
