RE: [Killietalk] Extremely Frustrated With Linear Piston Pumps

My experience with a Jehmco linear piston pump is also inconsistent with
that of the initial post on this topic. Mine couldn't be much quieter.

I note that the complaintant described his pump as "like" the pumps sold
by Jehmco. Perhaps it's not as similar as it would seem by the label on
the box. Could it be a "clone" pump by an inferior manufacturer?

Certainly different people have different expectations. When we
installed an air conditioner on the house a few years back, my next-door
neighbor, a retired professor, went ballistic about the noise of it
disturbing his silence in his back yard. Impartial observers described
the noise level as insignificant.

With my new piston pump, most of the noise came from the bubbling in the
tanks. When I first turned it on I was amazed at the noise coming from
70 filters going "full blast" for the first time ever. It took me a
weeks worth of fiddling with the valves to get the noise level of the
bubbling down to acceptable levels.

If your pump makes more noise than the bubbles, it is NOT the same as a
properly running pump from Jehmco.
