Re: [Killietalk] High temp limit for killies
The first Killie keeper I met here in St Louis kept a tank of Aphy.
scheeli on top of his TV and the light on on the tank all the time,
the temp was in the low 90's. I was amazed . . .
There must have been a dozen fish in this 10 gallon tank full of
water sprite. Once in a while a new male would appear and kept it all
going. As I remember all he fed the fish was frozen brine shrimp
Only problem, there were 10 females to every male
It started me thinking . . .

I have a planted tank with a variety of fish including discus, neon
tetras, American-flag fish, cory cats and otos. I would like to
have a few killies also. My concern is the temperature of my tank:
it runs on average 84.5 degrees and does get up to 86 on occasion.
Are there any killifish that would be ok at this temp? I have
searched the web but have never really found an upper limit for this
type of fish.
