In plain English, or Fish Tank Talk probably better, Clout is rough
on most everything in the normal aquarium. It turns the
plastic/silicone sealer blue and kills plants and snails as well.
Since it is designed to control lots of things, it has lots of
ingredients. If you have a specific problem, it would be best to
treat that problem with one drug. Loaches and many cat fishes are in
a more sensitive class by themselves. The label doesn't say "don't
use with Loaches or cat fish" but I have found Clout to be rather
unpredictable in its affects on various species.
In short, best to pick a specific drug for the specific problem.
