RE: [Killietalk] Bird Protector?
Since I started using this several years ago, I can tell you that it works
great to kill flies and mites in Grindal worm cultures.
Being a bird lover and having a small parrot, and also having a mite
problem in my worm culture. one day I was shopping and reading the product
specs
And got to thinking since birds are so sensitive to fumes if these bird
mite protectors are safe for birds it should be safe to use in my worm
cultures. I tried it and they work great.
I've used the 8 in 1 brand and one other maybe Hartz Mountain and they
both work very well.
The trick is to only put a few very small holes in the label that covers
the holes in the tin. Also it's best to tape the tin to the inside of the
top lid. If it comes in contact with the wet soil it will rust.
