Harry,

Don't get discouraged. The procedure no doubt looks extremely simple to 
the propeller-heads who designed it, but it is, IMHO, utterly user 
unfriendly for what should be a simple forum signup.

I found it so unbelievable that registering, signing in, and applying 
for membership were all independent processes (often requiring the same 
inputs) that I failed repeatedly at first. [Maybe it's a senior moment, 
or something. ;-)]

Barry has a poll up for who likes the forum and who likes the mail list, 
but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to vote in it, since I 
am already registered and logged in when I see the poll (it says I have 
to do that to vote!). There is absolutely no sane way to vote, looking 
at that page. [Tics me off, 'cause others obviously have cracked the 
code and voted. :^)]

Betcha Barry's new posting solves most of the signup problems I had.
