[Killietalk] Mosquito larvae
I had a small cherry tomato fall into one of the outside daphnia tubs. It
was rotting fairly well. Around it were an incredible number of mosquito
larvae, actively feeding from the water/decomposing tomato. All within a 2"
circle of the rotting tomato. No where else in the tub were there any
mosquito larvae. None of the other 3 tubs have mosquito larvae in them. I
have always put in some kind of animal food for attracting and feeding
mosquitos and larvae, but the tomato mess had them all in one area. A single
swipe with a brine shrimp net and a good rinse and I had more mosquito
larvae than I have ever gotten from a tub with other stuff in it.
