[Killietalk] Ask the candidates
To AKA members on this list:
This is a note to let you know that we are starting to get some action in
the Ask the Candidates forum. This is your chance to ask questions of the
candidates and to read their response to your questions and those of
others. Earlier today I email all of the candidates for whom I could find
email addresses (i.e. all but one) and asked them to monitor and respond to
your questions.
I feel that this is a very good way for members to explore the opinions of
the candidates on a number of issues. I invite all AKA members to
participate. To do so, you will need to register, login and request
admission to the members only forums. Here is how to do this (If you
haven't already).
1. Go to www.aka.org/forum/
2. At the top, click on Register. Fill in the box using your AKA number and
password, as is issued by the membership committee. It is important to
register using AKA # and password. I can't authorize your admission to
members only forums if I don't know you are a current member. I recommend
also that you fill in a brief sig line that will appear in your messages
(e.g. your name, and your locality). You only need to register once.
3. After registering, log in, using your AKA number and password, as you
just entered.
4. Click on Usergroups at the top of the page. Request entry to the Members
Only usergroup. That will send me a message and, assuming I can identify
you as a current AKA member, I will authorize it.
5. Once you are authorized you can read and post to the members forums,
such as Ask the Candidates.
Please participate in this democratic process. Find out what the candidates
stand for, then ABOVE ALL, vote!
