[Killietalk] RE: Traveling to Canada and back
Having just gone through it, I can say that a Driver's license is not
enough. I was in Detroit recently on business and my partner wanted to go to
a 'Foreign Land', having never been. We decided to go to a casino in Canada.
Not planning to go to Canada, I had neither my passport nor my birth
certificate with me. They did a thorough check on our licenses before
letting us pass. They said be sure to have your birth certificate with the
driver's license next time! Of course it didn't help that I had just gotten
a major haircut (I went crew baby!) and looked nothing like the picture!

Just crossed this weekend for the CKA at Niagra Falls. No problems. I
strongly suggest you have your passport. The inspectors take one look at it
and
wave you thru. If you got a story to tell and just a drivers license it
makes
more work for them.
