Short story;

I was just about to go out the door when I noticed that my 10 gal tank of ancistrus fry (about 50 of them) had started to go bad.  I knew it needed a partial water change, but was hoping to wait.  When I started to feed the fish, they were very sluggish.  I knew that if I waited until the night, I would probably lose the tank.  I quickly cut off a piece of polyfilter and stuffed it into a Fluval 1 submersible filter.  I dropped the filter into the tank and plugged it in.  Then I left for work.  When I came home, the fish were moving around quite happily and eating like pigs.  I pulled the Fluval 1 and found the polyfilter was almost black.
