Re: [Killietalk] New list

Word attachments would not be allowed on the killietalk list. Only certain types of files can be attached. I think killietalk has a spotless record of not letting viruses through. We will try to keep it that way. If you are concerned about this you could always use the forums.

Whilst I aplaud the new list in it's ability to put on attachments I would
err on the side of caution in this direction.
To send images to a group is a good thing to illustrate a point of interest
but it will not be too long before someone creates a virus or worm which
will penetrate the group.
As groups move fast from day to day, messages will pre empt virus update
downloads.
Attachment messages can of cause be deleted but this willl mean many members
deleting attachment messages which will reduce future input. A case in point
was recently put forward with a word based document.
I wonder how many members have considered leaving the list in light of this
new development.
