[Killietalk] Water...dripping on...

Hi all,
With the (forever) on-going chat about water, I think there is a frequently
overlooked fact. It is okay measuring pH, DH, TDS, conductivity etc, but
what about the other nasties? Fluoride springs to mind, among other things.
I am not in any way a chemist(or any other sort of -ist) but I read in the
British press that many naturally occurring chemicals can affect people,
and, by extension, fish.

I remember that Gunther Sterba described a recipe for "standard water" in
his Encyclopaedia a few years ago. Surely we should be using something of
this kind for our aquariums ? If we did so, we would have a common starting
point for our discussions., especially those people who are already using
R/O and demin equipment.
(Please don't flame me, I can see the difficulties in small set-ups.)
