RE: Computer Access vs. Paper

I look back at my f$e lists for the 70's and 80's and wonder where the
diversity went. It's still the best thing going in the hobby. If you want to
see a club group that doesn't work and dosen't care about new members check
out the livebearer group. Without the support of a local member, I would
have had to do all my own collecting.

Hi Lee,

I just can't believe it is that hopeless. I choose to believe that if
the
AKA finally comes to its senses and gets on the ball and does this pronto
that it will re-invigorate the whole fish sales/trading/listing side of the
organization. Maybe I am dead wrong but I do not think so. Actions have
unexpected
outcomes and maybe just maybe new growth would come from even an action that

is long overdue. If the AKA cannot find the leadership and will to build I
vibrant web presence and a true on line community larger and richer than
Killitalk
then the club will die after this generation of members quits or passes on.
I
think for the AKA to purposefully will itself into a dead end is very sad --

considering the kind of fantastic and foreward thinking leadership on which
it
was founded. I hope people, although no one has mentioned it, have glanced
at
the extraordinary forum site at <petflytrap.com>. We could have that. When I

think about the current BOT members saying that no matter what the argument
they will never vote with the times and now you saying that already all is
lost,
well, what a horrible situation for the AKA to find itself. These last 10
years of BOT's should all be ashamed of themselves as, if what you say is
true
and it is too late, then all their head-in-the-sand phoney fairness has both

insured the continuation of a useless and wasteful BNL and, in addition, the

devolution of the AKA into a dead end. That is sterling leadership and
profound
foresight. Gee, thanks, Luddites.
