Tyrone, the people that are for this idea are not wanting to go and fling
themselves into unforseen problems for the inexperienced. The discussions past
included the idea that an experienced person would be included in the trip.
It would totally be irresponsible to distribute all the fish at auctions,
etc. Some of the fish would have to be placed responsibly. The people who would
get the "placed" fish, would have to pledge,as in the KCC. They would be
responsible to study, propogate, and distribute through the N&RSC. Just some
ideas to think about. I would agree that sending three people on a jaunt without
direction would be a disaster. Every place that the members want to collect
in cannot all be collected in. Alot of these concerns can be handled through a
the proposal process. While a good hearted hobbyist may want to propose
collecting at Devil's Hole, he/she would be contacted early on that their proposal
is not going to be further considered. I understand that the membership may
object to who does the choosing. I would think that the people doing the
choosing would be the experienced members we have that have been there and done
that. I am sure that, if something like this actually happens, the members who
object to it now would be some of the members on this possible committee. One
of the first questions that can be asked of a proposing member is have you
any experience collecting fish? These people would have to have a very
convincing reason in their proposal to make the trip. "I just want to go to Africa"
is'nt going to cut it.
