RE: Brine shrimp salt

The anti-caking agent is just sodium silicate, i.e., sand.

Ahhh! A killie husbandry question. Finally I can say something.

I buy crude salt from the local feed store. That has no additives, but it
is not highly purified so probably contains some trace minerals.

I would be careful about using those salts with additives. Also be careful
about anti-caking additives that are added to some feed salt products. I
went to two local feed stores. One had salt that had an anticaking
additive, identified only by a letter sequence. I even called the
disributor to get an ID on it, but they didn't know what it was. I decided
not to risk it. I then went to the other feed store and they had the rock
salt in course, medium or fine grade, without additives. It works great for
brine shrimp hatching and for adding to the water that my Nothos are in.
