If you just want abunch of text files, it wouldn't take very long to do.  I 
think what we're looking for is PDF files with graphics, formating, 
searchable text and some sort of indexing to make it managable.  It does 
take a little more than just scanning and running it through OCR.  It sounds 
like Barry is trying to put togather a high quality product.  Maybe it would 
be quicker if he didn't have the web site, kilietalk, fish, job and maybe a 
life in there too!  I for one will never complain about what Barry is doing. 
 If barry was paid staff, I might, but he does all this on his own time and 
still probably takes batter care of his fish than I do.

Lets not abuse our volunteer staff, they are the the bigest asset the AKA 
has.  Abuse, neglect and just plain indifference is a good way to get rid of 
hard working dedicated volunteers.  They all deserve a lot of thanks but 
most of the time they only hear from anyone when there is a problem.  I 
would like to see Barry delegate more, only beacuse I don't want to see him 
get burnt out and give it up.

As an organization and as individuals we need to go out of our way to keep 
our volunteers happy, it makes it a lot easier to keep good ones and find 
more when we need them.

I'll step off the soapbox now......
