Re: JAKA CD

Hi Bobby,

I would love to see this for the BKA as well as the AKA. I was reminded that
copyrighted material in the paper journals does not give the BKA the right
to publish the material on CD. In future if contributors are asked for
permission for use in an electronic version of the journal then I guess that
would work but I believe that this will not always be given.

Something to think about anyhow, how does this issue of copyrighted material
work in the AKA journal? If it is an issue then someone unlucky person would
need to track down past contributors for permission. Also, does 'copyright'
ever expire such that articles in journals older than say 25(?) years are
ok? Without a long-winded thread of opinions does anybody actually know how
this all stands?

Would some form of limited electronic publication as a protected .PDF with
bitmaps be ok? Perhaps not? Oh for a searchable archive of journals on a
CD/DVD!

Best regards
Dave
