Gary,
Al Castro maintained this CYL strain for many, many years. You'll see it
with his name attached in old newsletters. It was attached since the inbred
strain is so very black and orange -- very distinctive. I had the strain for some
years and it bred absolutely true with very little variation in pattern or
size. Very productive and quite high fertility on the eggs. He once told me that
one reason he kept it was that it was such a turn on for new killie breeders
who thought Rivulus were horrible and colorless ;-)
