This particular issue has bothered me for over a year now. I believe the fish
that is currently known as Fundulopanchax deltaense is distinctly different
in size, demeanor and coloration from the fish referred to as Fundulopanchax
gularis. I have kept both fish, but not at the same time. However, I don't think
my memory or pictures are that much in error. AquaLog "Killifishes of the
World - Old World Killis I" shows Aphyosemion (Euro) gulare on page 93 that is
close to my memory. It also shows Aphyosemion (Euro) deltaense on page 77 that
is also close to what we see currently as deltaense. I believe the synonymy is
an error. They are not closely similar.
