Hi All,
I have been remiss as leader of the Fun. arnoldi group within the
Fundulopanchax section of the KCC. Would anyone who is maintaining the arnoldi
Ughelli TRO1 population who would be interested in being apart of this group please
contact me off list. The responsibility is very simple -- just report to me so
I can report to David Ramsey how many adults, fry and eggs you have on hand
when we have a census (like now) and agree to keep the species going in your
tanks. That's it. Arnoldi was in the hobby in the early 1960's and except for a
few importations to Europe over the years and a strain in England in the
1980's, it has never truly established itself -- even though it was one of the
first species of killifish to make it to the hobby alive (1905). The new strain
seems to be establishing itself and we want to keep it that way. There are also
some new importations into Europe that hopefully we can get and add to the
arnoldi group.
Also, the last few years I have noticed how the big Callopanchax species
have just sort of drifted off the killifish radar. In fact, the whole old
"Roloffia" group seems to have lost alot of popularity. I am beginning to think
we have even lost the old red form of occidentalis in the American hobby --
probably for the first time since the 1930's! I would like to hear from people
who would be interested in getting a Callopanchax group going in the KCC.
Bobby
