Re: Sex ratio experiment.



I am raising almost 20 years ago nothos and always that I had few alevines of a specie there I put in practices the method to join two fries (2 or 3 days old) in containers of one liter with the result of they be male and female in a very high percentage (80% or more). 
I knew this experience for a Holland killi friend (Han Van Ess) many years ago. He already practiced it with success with Cynolebias but my experience is limited to the Nothobranchius. I cannot think on other genres.
My experiment is only join the fries by peers. I did not put attention to the water values. I think that it is not important and that the truly important is be two fries in each container. Perhaps the secret of the success is the need to have that to be male and female or the espcie would disappear. 
I not know the mechanism but really the result is spectacular with the nothos if the separation in the containers is in the firsts days live.
