I'm still a fan of used regenerative blowers from C&H. I recently got another
Ametex 50 CFM blower (1.9 amps, AC. 60 herz) for $65 plus shipping. It's
rated at 10 CFM at 16" of water. I use it for all my fish room and have to bleed
off excess air. It pushes down to the bottom of a 29 gal tank. You'll have to
pipe it to PVC by reducing the diameters of the discharge port, and it's not
quiet, but it sure does a job. Mine last about a year or two before they fail,
but it's a good price and the failures are probably from back pressure because
I don't filter the incoming air. 1-800-325-9465, stock # ACB9804, pg. 20 of
the 2003 catalog. Even if you don't want it, you should get on their annual
catalog mailing list.
