Re: Native Killies

Hi George,
I assume you are in Litchfield County Conn. If so, you may (if only
because they are local) want to contact Northeastern Aquatics, Kerr Road.,
Rhinebeck N.Y. (Dutchess County) (845) 876-3983. I'm not sure they sell
Fundulus but they do sell a good variety of other fish for stocking ponds.
Best part is you can see what you are getting and picking up the fish will
minimize the stress plus save a lot of money.
....................good luck........................Ron

P.S. You can catch unlimited quantities of Fundulus heteroclitus in the
Hudon River estuary. They are not strictly estuarine and will do OK and
breed in pure fresh water. My folks use them for just such a mosquito
suppression function in a small freshwater pond in NJ.
