Re: A. avichang

the incubation time is 2 to 4 month depending on the temperature.Eggs are laid in a mop but preferably in peat fiber on the botom of the tank
The adults prefer soft and slightly acid water and a temperature of 20 to 25 degrees centigrade
They need a lot of hiding material (java fern, java moss)some can ge agressive .I had breeding success but lost some fish to fighting ,males killing females and other males. For hatching eggs peat mulch in the hatching water is almost a requirment .Incubation can be in water or in wet peat.
The fish are named Fundulopanchax Avichang nguba II GEML 00/16 and collected by F Malumbres (SEC)in Equatorial Guinea

This species (A. avichang) was first mentioned on killietalk about a
half-year ago and at the time no-one knew much about them.

I was lucky enough to obtain a pair at the WCW auction (3 or 4 pairs
were available). What have we learned about them since their
introduction? Someone has obviously had some breeding success. What do
these guys like? How do we incubate the eggs? How long? On what medium
do they prefer to spawn?

What do the adults prefer by way of temperature and WQ?
