Fundulus catenatus & allies: collecting points?

Hi all,

Upon my impending Last Day this upcoming Memorial Day weekend (uh, obscure Logan's Run reference there.. ), I'm trying to decide if I want to go out and bury my misery under a table somewhere or to go out collecting. As the first option would probably result in jail-time, I'm leaning towards the latter.

My initial goal is a pictoral survey of the various studfishes throughout the Southern regions, but I don't know if there's enough time. I know that F. catenatus and F. stellifer are both well within a day's drive, but I know nothing of the others (off the top of my head: F. bifax, F. rathbuni, F. julisia (off-limits by default, but I wouldn't mind swinging by the type location and snapping some pictures, they're only 5-8 hours away). Would anyone mind giving me some pointers as to where I should try?

Second: any tips for photoing these fish? I've got a Sony Cybershot series camera that's just sitting around collecting dust, so this might be a good excuse to work with it.

Third: Any one-man collecting tips for any of these? I foresee pain, pain, and water in my future. :)

Thanks in advance,

-Shane
