Re: sphagnum peat moss

I too have bought countless bags of different brands looking for the perfect
stuff. What drew me to buy this particular bag/brand was the squeeze test.
This bag squeezed like a down pillow. Usually the squeeze test feels of
sticks, lumps, hard crusty things. My garden is full of such castoffs. Try
again after the squeeze test.
I did not boil it. I have a bucket that holds about 3 gallons. I fill it
half way with water, dump in some of the peat, and push the peat down into
the water with a deli cup everytime I walk by it. Took about a day and a
half to sink.
I put in 3 pairs of Fp walkeri GH2 in a 5 gallon last night with a bunch of
this peat. Fish are happy with it so far.
