It's the "Langton" scale as proposed by Roger. I and many others know of 
it but don't have a ready reference. Could some kind person post a URL 
where we can bookmark and find it when we need it?

that is not possible, I could post it to a more-or-less permanent page at 
sfbaka.net, where we could easily locate it. In that case, please post the 
descriptions to this list and I'll generate the permanent page for it. 
Affiliates and their volunteers come and go, but AKA has shown some 
ability to keep muddling through.:-)]

A quick "Dogpile" search of the net search engines only turned up the fact 
that I asked the same question on this list 2.5+ years ago! :-)
