If you raise a bunch in a big tank, the males tend to co exist much better.
I think it is that during maturing, they determine who is the boss and
establish a pecking order before they get strong and agressive enough to do
any real damage. Now I'm not saying you can raise a dozen gularis in a 10
gal, but most of the smaller Fp and Aphys in a 15 or larger will coexist
quite nicely IF RAISED TOGETHER IN THE TANK
Move them around and territory and status must be reestablished and trouble
can start.
I'm even on my third generation of a 5 to 10 gal tank with a half dozen pr
of Notho rachovii with no damage. Sparring yes, but killing no.
