RE: food for daphnia
I found that to encourage a good, quick algal bloom - add some Miracle Grow
liquid house plant fertilizer to old aquarium water and leave the lights on
twentyfour hours per day.

I use goldfish and snails in ten gallon tanks near windows. Produces green
water.

I was wondering if anyone had a home recipe they would like to share in
feeding daphnia cultures. I'm
currently using powderized spirulina algae flakes and
yeast to grow out a culture before tapping it for a food source. Are there
better feeders to be used that are more nutritious? Any and all ideas would
be welcomed.
