intorduced exotics (sort of OT)

> The real Axis of Evil: Caulerpa, starlings, and Gambusia

You forgot MTS.

They are tough. I've found them in a couple of tanks where they're not
supposed to be. Being lazy and optimistic, I tired copper sulfate on
them--gave up when I had put a triple dose in the tank and the snails were
still fine. These are the same snails, mind you, that are reported to
survive drying the gravel and freezing temps (despite their tropical
origin). I guess I'll have to boil the gravel and see if that works....

Since they are primarily carnivorous, think about the disaster they could
cause if they escaped into native fisheries. Needless to say, all my waste
water from the MTS infested tanks in dumped on the flower beds on the high
side of the property, no where near the creek (which drains into a pristine
section of the Kokosing River).
