I have found the Fp gardneri Mamfense to behave quite differently that the
other gardneri types.
I worked for over a year with Fp gardneri Mamfensis HAH98/Ebinsi with maybe
one or two fry. I was doing the standard type setups for doing Fp gardneri
locations. It just was not working. I got really scared as the adults were
getting over the hill. I finally have worked out what works for me. I keep a
pair in a 2.5 gallon tank, soft water, sponge filter, little bit of gravel
and peat on the bottom, low light. The key for me has been to have the tank
absoltely stuffed with java moss. Stuffed to the point that swimming is not
an option. Wriggling is the method of transportation. Line baby brine,
daphnia, grindal worms, small black worms for food. I leave them in for
about a month and pull them out into another tank set up the same way. Over
the next several weeks fry appear in good numbers in the original tank. This
method has worked for the last seveal years.
