The medaka stock center people just toured my work last week. They gave a
presentation on the various mutants. One was clear and you could see all
the organs as if you were looking through tissue paper. They also have many
color mutants that looked some what like koi and then there's the one with
the fire fly gene.
They can be kept in ponds or out door tubs in climates that freeze. They
used to have an entire roof covered with bath tub sized tubs as the main
stock center. They said that during warm weather they could spawn daily.
As to details of breeding or collecting eggs there was not much to relate.
