Notho. Guentheri eggs

Quick question...

I purchased these eggs from a reputable killie
breeder/keeper back in October. (I didn't know
anything about killies/AKA/etc back then)

They were picked around 10/15/02. Packaged very well.

When I opened them back on 3/22/03 the peat was still
moist. I couldn't visibly see any eggs though. I
also didn't see any fungus. I'm not sure how much
oxygen was allowed in the bags though... they weren't
sealed like a ziplock, but they were fairly well
taped.

I placed both peat bags in a tuperware box with an
opening in the lid, submerged the box in a cycled/aged
tank, and waited about 10 days.. no sign of fry.

Could the eggs been in storage to long? Could the
eggs of gone bad? They were stored at around 60-70F
and for the majority of the time they were kept i nthe
dark.

I'm just looking for possible reasons I didn't get any
fry.
(FYI, the seller was I believe an AKA member, but the
eggs were purchased from him via aquabid - at the time
of purchase I didn't know about the AKA...)

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.
