There is a product called "Resting Rotifers" from Aquaculture Supply
(formally Florida Aquafarms),
http://www.aquaculture-supply.com/
Add a few cysts to your green water. You can use much LESS then directed on the
vial. About a week later you will see your green water clear slightly. A peek
under the scope will show many rotifers swimming around. I keep a 20 gallon
under the Metal Halide where I grow my green water. In there a have a mass of
Java Moss. I put in some "Resting Rotifers" and toss a cup or two of dense
green water in about once a week. This is working as a continuous Rotifer
culture. Additon of this moss to fry containers brings lots of rotifers along
with it. I can also dip the water out and add the rotifers that way.
Norm Rubenstien of WAKO was talking to me at ChiKA about raising cyclops on
trout pellets. Did not get any details.
