Re: beginner fish choices

Zach,

Fp Gardneri are a very good match. In a planted 3 gal tank a single pair has
produced about 20 healthy offspring in about 4 mos of maturity. I think that
all that's required is water to breed these guys. My ph is around 7.4. I
don't think 6.6-6.8 will be a problem as long as it's consistant (drip
acclimate).

Stats: 3 gal Eclipse,
Hornwort on top with some Java moss on the bottom.
Small piece of that really heavy wood that comes from the LFS and I don't
have a clue as to the country of origin
Generic gravel substrate.
Fry stay with the parents until they are 1/2" to 3/4" then live together
fairly peacefully in an Eclipse 12 at various sizes.
30%-50% weekly water changes on both (dechlorinated SF tap water)

Foods:

Daily 2 drops of Liquifry #1(purists don't crucify me, it works so I keep
with it)
Frozen BBS (every other day)
Ground Spectrum Small fish formula (some larger chunks for the parents)
Frozen Blood Worms (every other day)

Hope this helps,

Tucker

PS If anybody in the Bay Area is looking for Fp Gardneri N'Sukka drop me a
line
