     Are there any other fish in with them? Wild fish are EXTREMELY prone to 
picking up the columnaris strains in our tanks. If you put wild fish in with 
commercially raised domestic strains, the wild fish will often come down with 
columnaris. I got my LFS to stop putting wild and domestic fish in the same 
tanks and it lowered their disease rate a good deal. Are you feeding them 
live baby brine shrimp? Sick fish will often take bbs and nothing else. Look 
at Bob Goldstein's Barron's books on Bettas and Angelfish. They both have the 
best disease sections of any fish book I have ever read. I think they might 
help.
