Re: Sodium Bicarbonate

Isn't Baking Soda Sodium Bicarbonate?
i have extremely soft water out of the tap (17ppm) and relatively low pH (6.5). I have miserable hatch rates with brine shrimp. I normally use kosher salt and that always worked until I moved to my latest location. I switched to marine salt mix and got about the same hatch rate and thought it was perhaps the eggs. So I ordered a new batch of eggs and got the same resuts.
So I switched back to the Kosher Salt and added Baking Soda, my hatch rate is more or less back to what it used to be before I moved.

mix it to 1.010 to 1.015 density. Great hatches from most eggs, and a lot
easier than finding the right formula.
