Re: F&EL

hello,

I just went to the F&E list online last week and read it through acrobat
reader. I found 9 pairs (3 different types of killifish) that I was looking
for from one breeder so it saved me postage cost. I use auqabid a lot and
have occasionally bought GUPPIES that were not what the seller said they
were, they did not even match the photo. So I left negative feedback (even
though all the other feedback said the guppies were fantastic) and fed the
guppies to my oscar.

While all of my killifish have come from the F&E listing or John Wubbolt
from the cold north country, I do sell eggs on Aquabid with the same
identification that was passed on to me. I have also checked the photos on
the AKA site to make sure they match the same fish I have in my tanks.

I know someone went up one side and down the other because this list was
upset at them for using a photo that was not even the correct photo for the
collection site. I applaude everyone who enforces name of fish in the hobby.

On a similar note, one seller of Angelfish became upset when about 15 of the
"Angelfish Police" emailed him to tell him that the nameing identification
of his fish was totally off base(it was a koi not a German red for anyone
interested). The auction was removed by the owner very fast and appeared a
few weeks later with proper identification.

I think that the AKA should expand the education of people about killifish.
Politly emailing them when we notice a fish is mislabled in an auction, or
inviting them to the AKA website to learn more about the type of killifish
they just bought from a member at an auction, on a list, or on aquabid.

just a thought,
Richard Brice
