Re: New AKA web site
Leo,
I'm afraid you did not misunderstand me. There is extensive use of
Javascript with most web sites these days and that is true of the new AKA site.
There are only two solutions to this. Either keep the site totally basic so
that everyone has to be limited to the most simple of static sites, or
write an alternative site that detects the user as a WebTV user and directs
them to a simplified site. The problem with that is that I would not be
able to implement such things as image protection, to discourage the theft
of images from the site. The other problem is that I have already put in
many, many hours of work to put this new site together. My fishroom and
other things have suffered neglect while I do it. I am reluctant to have to
do the site all over again for a very small number of users, no matter how
sympathetic I am to their plight.
Have you looked into the mechanisms available on Windows, and other
operating systems, for people with poor eyesight?
Leo, I am truly sorry if the new site doesn't work for you. Perhaps you can
tell me whether it works at all. It is unfortunate that WebTV does not see
fit to support industry standard features.
