eliminating Hydra, Heximita, Velvet, Ick and Glugea
Hi Gary,
I have used Flubendazole 5% at the rate of 1/2 to 1 tsp per 30 gallons
to kill hydra many times over the last 4 years and have never had a fish
loss. I am perplexed at your experience. I have never used it on small fry.
The fish have always been sub adults to mature adults. I also always stir it
up in a glass of water first and then pour it in. The water has also always
been moderately hard and alkaline. The tanks were filtered too with a jumbo
box filter.
I cannot explain your experience. I have used it on adult N. symoensi
without any problems. I never used it on hoignei so I cannot say.
Please tell me that the hoignei were not the pair I sent you! I hope you
have lots of eggs. I was getting good hatches and good sex ratios from moist
peat stored at 80F for 6 and 1/2 months.
Bobby
