The 2003 Chicago Show.

If George is going to mention the Chicago region killie show, it is
certainly time to invite everyone. Please keep March 29 and 30th open if at
all possible.

The Chicago show will be at the College of DuPage (locally known as C.O.D. -
as fishy a name as we could get for a meeting place) in the Open Campus
Building K, Room 128 (a.k.a the Courtyard Cafe). It is off of parking lot 10
and just next door to where we have our regular meetings.

COD is located at 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Fawell is also
known as 22nd St and the college is at the intersection of 22nd St, &
Lambert Rd. (The CKA site
http://www.aka.org/AKA/Clubs/ClubPages/CHIKA/ChiKA.htm has more detailed
directions.) That may sound a little scary to out of towners, but it is only
15-20 minutes west on the East-West Tollway from the Tri-State. (For
shoppers it is near a zillion big shopping centers)

That community college has what is probably the largest student body of any
community college in the country. Part of our thinking is that it is time
that one of the better kept secrets in the country - killies - is brought to
the attention of a larger audience.

I had wanted to wait a little longer to invite everyone on this list in that
we are still making arrangements for a Saturday evening hospitality room.
That should be a done deal by the end of this weekend.

We are privileged to have Jack Heller presenting an expanded fish room talk
on Saturday afternoon and one of his accounts of collecting in Cameroon on
Sunday morning.

We are delighted to have already heard from some out of town killie-nuts. It
should be a good time of fish, fun and fellowship.

If you would like the entire flyer, please e-mail Ken (a.k.a. Magilla) or
myself and we will gladly send it as an attachment.

More info should also be at the CKA site mentioned above. Hope to meet you
there!

We also are pleased to have Bob Meyer speaking on Killies, Plants and Ponds
at the March 14 CKA meeting. If you are any where near (plus or minus a
couple 100 miles), we'll keep the lights on for you!

By the way, Magilla's correct e-mail is magilla at ameritech_net and his telly
is 708-485-1321.

All the best!
