I have kept nothbranchius rubripinnis in a similar way, much more similar.
this is the way I use .
I aquarium size 4"*6"*16" divided into 4 equal spaces by a glass division.
here is the trick each divider must be smaller than the previous
now you have 4 containers so if you overflow 1 tank will go to the other.
for water flow I use air pump rubber tubing and a small air operated
external filter. one end of tubing is in the lower end of unit and other
into the filter which is hanging in the other end. air supply is in the
lower part connected via a t joint
