Re: Convention info
I am not sure why that would be. There is nothing fancy on that page.
That is my cue to suggest that you all upgrade your versions of browsers.
The new AKA site is optimized for the more recent browsers. Most things
should work with versions 4 and above, but to be safe I'd recommend version
of 5 or above. I am testing using MSIE V 5.2 on a Mac G4 running OS X 10.2
and V 5.5 on a PC running Windows 2000 Pro. I have also tested using the
latest Netscape, V 7.0. The site works with all of them. One of the reasons
for requiring these later versions is that I have implemented methods to
discourage saving of image files to disk. This may cause problems in
viewing images with early browsers.
A few people may complain that they don't want to upgrade. That is their
choice but I am afraid they may not get the most out of the site.
I expect the new site to go live in about two to three weeks. it will not
be complete, not that such things are ever complete, but part of the fun
will be returning to see what else we have implemented.
