Hey All, the pain experienced by fish sounds like a good one to comment on. 
Everytime I hook a trout or a smallmouth bass with a barbless hook, they all 
react the same. After I real them in, I let them go. You know, some of those 
fish have caught on and will not take the flies that I present after  being 
caught, especially the trout. Pretty slick, huh. I am sure someone will say 
they cant remember bad experiences like being hooked in the mouth. I contend 
that a possible explanation is they feel pain, but unlike us they dont know 
that it is a hook. Mark D
