I think what we need is to ensure we gather a few cells frozen of males and females each killifish species (and otherfish too) and subspecies so that when Humans will wisen up and stop destroying their environment and kill each other, we will be able to clone male and female killies to reimplant them in their restored environment (and sell some for aquarists too!). The over exploitation of land is a passing phenomenon as new technologies will be available soon which will allow to reset nature to its origin, like nanotechnology which will allow us to grow everything in simple machines by providing basic nutrients and letting the trillions nanobots create an apple, a steak, a tree, a computer, ... , anything we want! There will be nanobots to clean the environment too. This is coming faster than we can think...
