I'm new to the hobby, but I fully agree with what Mark just wrote here.  I didn't join the AKA from what I saw being said about other members.  I just posted an ad on killitrader to try and make some trades to stock my fishroom.  I didn't look up the proper spellings and had a guy send me an absolutely nasty email with some pretty good name-calling.  It doesn't promote well being among new people, or anybody for that matter.
Regarding my use of the photo.  For every photographer who wants to protect his photos there is probably one who would like others to use his/her photos.  I did use the photo for an ad, but it's end purpose will just get a hobbyist another species to play with.  It's not like I did it to get rich from.  I sell some eggs to pay for my fish-food.
Why not make all the photos available to whomever wants to use them.  I often go to killi-net as they allow you to use their photos as long as they get a plug(a smart idea).  The AKA could generate some more traffic for itself if it had a nice and accesible library. The guys that don't want their photos to be used for public use can have them removed.  They will be replaced by people that want their photos shared.
The end goal of this hobby is to get more people invlolved in the hobby.  It would make more sence to have photos available for that purpose.  Let people put their photos on the AKA site that don't mind sharing them.  It sure would keep this from happening again as it seems like its a continuing problem.
