Re: methylene blue and Aph. australe

Tyrone, sometimes killie eggs will develop normally when you add a few fibers
of peat moss to the vessel containing the eggs. I am currently doing this
with A. ogoense pyrophore RPC 78-18. I believe methyln blue is an oxygen
carrier, but you may have a problem with keeping the eggs near an aquarium
light. Is your australe tank under a light, as a flourescent or incandescent?
Killie eggs are sensative to light. Also, higher than normal temperature can
have adverse effects on eggs as well. The embryos will not react well to an
aquarium light, especially, flourescent. Try, even if you dont use the peat
trick, to keep the eggs in a darker place. Mark Delraso
