Hi Frank,
I would suggest you get a TDS meter which will measure the total disolved solid
in ppm.of the water. Then you can determine what tds you want and mix your water
accordingly. I have found that many of the killies do well in 150 to 200 ppm
while some of the Aphyosemions, etc like it around 30 to 50 ppm. It really
depends on what killies you are dealing with and what their requirements are. You
can pick up a TDS meter for around $40.
